Guest Play Policy
We would like to welcome you to Short Hills Country Club and we are excited to have this opportunity of showcasing our facility to you. To ensure that you and your friends have a wonderful experience we respectfully ask you to observe the following:
Proper Attire:
Men: Shirts with collars, slacks or mid-thigh length Bermuda shorts are permitted. Tank tops, tee shirts, sweat pants, blue jeans, swim wear, cut-offs, or other athletic shorts are not permitted.
Women: Dresses, skirts, slacks, mid-length shorts, and blouses are appropriate. Halter tops, tee shirts, cut-offs, sweat pants, blue jeans, swim wear, tennis dresses, short shorts, or other athletic shorts are not permitted.
Golf Shoes: Short Hills Country Club is a spikeless facility. Shoes with soft spikes or spikeless shoes must be worn by all golfers.
Golf Course Rules:
Golf Carts: All golf carts are to be parked no closer than 30 yards from any green complexes. While at the tee box, all carts are to have all 4 wheels on the pavement.
Pace of Play: Our members generally play this course in 4 hours. We would like our guests to enjoy this experience while at the same time keeping pace with the other golfers on the course, with our goal of playing 18 holes within 4 hours. If you are tracking to finish within 4 hours you will be fine. If you are not, here is our pace of play policy:
1. You must keep up with the group in front of you. If you are falling behind, our Player Assistant will politely ask you to speed up your play with ready golf. Putt out whenever possible. Record your scores at the next tee box. Hit off the tee in the order in which you are ready. These tips will help you catch up to the group in front of you.
2. If you are still out of position you will be asked to move up to the next tee to help pick up the pace.
Course Maintenance: It is the responsibility for all golfers at Short Hills Country Club to fix their ball marks and repair their divots. Please repair your divots using the sand and seed provided on each cart.
