Course
Rules
Short Hills Country Club is established by
adults for the social pleasure of adult
members and the corresponding enjoyment of
their dependents and guests. Our desire is
to be a great family club, and we sincerely
believe these rules must be followed to
achieve that goal.

Playing rules are in effect May 1
through September 30.

All scores shot after April 15 must be
turned in for handicap computations.

Adherence to USGA rules and conduct
required.

Groups may have up to and including five
players.

No group shall have priority because of
its size.

It shall be the duty of any group if it
falls one hole behind the group they are
following to either catch up to that
group, or invite faster moving groups to
play through at the next tee.

Starting play on any hole other than the
first tee is prohibited unless cleared
through the Golf Shop before play
begins.

Pet animals are not allowed on Club
grounds.

Glass containers for drinks are not to
be taken onto the course. All other
drink containers should be disposed of
in trash receptacles provided for that
purpose.

Complaints or violations covering
golfing rules in Short Hills Yearbook
should be referred to the Golf Shop or
the Sports Committee.

Children accompanying parents on the
course must be actively playing golf
with their own set of clubs. Children
are not allowed on the course as
observers.

Restricted starting times: May 1
through September 30. Tuesday the course
will be open to ladies only until 1:00
p.m. Wednesday the first tee will be
held open to men only from 9:00 a.m. to
3:00 p.m. Refer to the chart below.
GOLFING RESTRICTIONS
The following golfers may not golf during
the restricted times in order to secure
select times for groups.

Gender restrictions do not apply to the
range.
*Children may use the practice facilities up
